The facilitators at Quest Institute bring rich and diverse backgrounds from such areas as psychology, medicine, business, the arts and education.
Each facilitator has participated in their own healing journey as well as our rigorous Facilitator Certification program.

Robin Cappon, PhD, MFT
Robin works as a licensed psychotherapist and physical therapist, having received her MA and PhD in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
As psychotherapist she leads intensive healing retreats and is in private practice specializing in attachment disorders, relationship issues and parenting concerns from the lens of neurophysiology.
As a physical therapist, Robin consults on neuro-developmental and parenting concerns. She feels honored to work with people of all ages and extraordinarily fortunate to witness their courage, growth, and healing.
In addition to her dedication to helping people thrive, Robin’s love of sculpting led her to the production of monumental bronzes for 17 years. Robin lives in Santa Barbara, California where she currently works intensively with adults from all over the US.
Robin’s personal passion is being a dedicated parent to her two sons and assisting young people in healing their earliest attachment wounds prior to beginning families of their own. As such, she conducted research to address the neurophysiology of the impact of maternal anxiety on infants. Robin loves being out of doors, watching sunsets and long trail runs in the mountains behind her home.
Barbara Sachs, MA, LPC
Barbara is a Nationally Certified Counselor and a Licensed Professional Counselor.
She is a graduate of both University of Maryland and Argosy University. In her work with adults, couples and adolescents she focuses on chronic physical or emotional pain, difficult decision-making, relationship difficulties, career issues, depression, anxiety, and/or substance abuse.
Barbara states that, “I believe that each one of us has the ability to find peace in our lives, to reduce both our emotional and physical pain, and to manage change. My experience is that we can learn to better cope with our situations, heal our discomfort and improve our relationships. Sometimes we just need a safe place to be to find love and acceptance for ourselves and a trusted guide to walk with us on our path.”
Bill loves being a coach and mentor. For almost 20 years he has facilitated intensive retreats as well as hosting a monthly men's support group in Nashville.
He has participated in a variety of programs including the Onsite Living Centered workshop, Al Peso's Psycho-Drama workshops, and two STAR workshops. Each year he attends the annual Mentone Men's Gathering hosted by John Lee.
He developed a love for Rumi poetry after listening to readings by Robert Bly, Coleman Barks, and John Lee. His appreciation has grown to include the works of many great poets. Another of Bill's loves is riding his Harley Ultra Classic Cruiser.
Bill is president and CEO of a mechanical construction firm with offices in Nashville, TN, and Huntsville, AL.
Cindy Henning, MS
For the past several years Cindy has served as a certified facilitator for intensive healing retreats.
The unfolding of Cindy’s spiritual development and dedication to personal growth began over 30 years ago through her own 12-Step recovery. Throughout her soul searching re-awakening years and prior to retiring from the US Department of Labor, Cindy earned a BS in Psychology, majoring in Organizational Management and a MS in Human Resource Development, majoring in Total Quality Management.
The greatest joy of her ever changing work life and career was to have developed and managed a holistic, comprehensive nationally recognized job training program for women in transition. One of the most enduring lessons Cindy learned during that time and throughout her own evolutionary transformation is that the greatest honor one can hope to have is to bear witness to and hold sacred space for others. Quest affords her this opportunity.
Between traveling for adventure and facilitating for Quest Retreats, Cindy splits her time between two beautiful locations: Asheville, NC, and the Northeast Kingdom in Vermont.
Dana Williams, BSN, RN
For over two decades Dana has pursued personal growth and transformation experiences, including serving as a certified facilitator for healing retreats and a massage therapist.
Being in the healing professions as an RN, Dana loves supporting others, facilitating for Quest and leading Breathwork. She is also passionate about the Earth and its inhabitants and the creative process. Dana has a BSN from East Tennessee State University, certification in Massage Therapy from The Cumberland Institute for Holistic Therapies, and certification by Jacquelyn Small’s Eupsychia Institute in Integrative Breathwork and Soul Based Psychology.
Joyfully retired after 33 years as an RN, and a few years as a Massage Therapist, she travels with her husband, plays with their grandkids and dogs, gardens, and reads.
David began his own personal healing journey over three decades ago. Early in that process he began serving as a regular facilitator for intensive healing retreats.
An entrepreneur, with decades of hands-on practical experience, David conceived and operated several businesses in the healthcare field on the East Coast. Since moving to Northern
California twenty years ago, he became a management & marketing consultant focusing on the needs of small business and not-for-profit organizations.
He holds a BS degree in Social Work, is a clinical hypnotherapist, and is completing a Masters Degree in Human Resources & Organization Development (ABT).
In addition to being a Certified Quest Facilitator, Dianna is partner and co-founder of The Pendolino Group.
Dianna has over 25 years of hands-on experience in facilitating and consulting in human resources and operations management, including senior global leadership roles at National Semiconductor, Beceem Communications, Lam Research and Hara.
Since launching The Pendolino Group in 2009, Dianna and her team have served over 300 clients across many industries and internationally in the areas of compensation, leadership development, recruiting, talent management, human resources information systems, and executive management practices. With a focus on developing leadership capabilities in organizations and individuals, under Dianna’s leadership, The Pendolino Group has helped clients develop and deploy scalable global infrastructures directly aligned to the business strategy, financial objectives and optimizing the human resources function.
Dianna was recognized by the 2009 HR Symposium for her dedication to the HR Profession and Leadership Development with the “Excellence in Partnering with HR” award.
The Pendolino Group works closely with several non-profit organizations and has a stated commitment to support these organizations through Executive Coaching services. Dianna graduated from the Women Unlimited, LEAD program in 2000. An avid golfer, USGTF certified golf instructor, CTI certified life coach and Yoga practitioner, Dianna recently founded The Samadhi Institute. The Samadhi Institute is committed to bringing together people with people and people with their dreams!
Edie is honored to be a Certified Quest Facilitator at Quest Healing Retreats. She is passionate about finding ways to heal that are uplifting and joyous.
Edie Allen is a Transformational Life Coach, Mental Health Specialist, Reiki Master-Teacher, Intuitive, Medium, Certified Angel Card Reader, Professional Actress & Voice-Over Talent and a recently retired Nationally Certified Massage Therapist. With over 30 years experience in Personal Development as well as the Healing & Performing Arts and well over 12,000 clients and sessions to her credit, Ms. Allen has lived, practiced and performed in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and Atlanta and is proud to be back home in the LowCountry where she founded her business Dragonfly Dojo ~ A Sacred Learning Space, in Charleston 2001. She has studied and worked with Esther Hicks (Abraham), Dr. Wayne Dyer, Dr. Brian Weiss, Rev. Dr. Michael Beckwith, Doreen Virtue, Mike Dooley, Cheryl Richardson, and the extraordinary staff at Quest. In 2015 Edie became South Carolina’s only Chakradance ™ Facilitator and recently attended a retreat in Chicago with the founder, Natalie Southgate of Australia, where she danced with 50 other facilitators from around the world.
Emily Berman, MA, LPC
Emily is a licensed psychotherapist, specializing in somatic psychology with an integrated mind-body approach, including both Gestalt therapy and birth psychology principles.
Much of her practice is focused on helping others to design and create their lives and their relationships in ways that are most nourishing and personally satisfying. She specializes in working with adults and couples facing a variety of issues including life transitions,relationship difficulties, depression,anxiety and a range of LGBT issues.
Emily completed her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from John F. Kennedy University, specializing in Marriage, Family Therapy and Somatic Psychology. She was a faculty member at the Cortiva Institute, teaching courses in effective communication and assertiveness. She has practiced meditation, mindfulness and toning for over 10 years and more recently joined a Qi Gong practice group. Emily enjoys spending time with her partner, her chocolate lab and being in nature whenever possible.
Ian Warburg, MS
Ian has participated in intensive retreats since 1986 and served as facilitator for several years.
He considers intensive retreats as among the most profoundly and positively impactful experiences of his life.
In addition to his work with Quest Institute, Ian is a seasoned executive, investor, and board director with broad ranging experience in a variety of industries including retail, hospitality, sales promotion & loyalty marketing, real estate, and more. He currently advises a number of individuals, companies, and not-for-profit organizations.
Ian’s community endeavors include more than two decades of dedication to the Hole in The Wall Gang Camp, more than seven years as a board director with The Aquaya Institute, and nearly a decade of service with the American Friends of the Hebrew University where he was co-founder and chairman of the President’s Council. Ian holds a Masters of Science in Organizational Development from American University and a Bachelor of Arts from New York University in International Politics and Economics.
Jaime Stein, MA
Jaime received her MA in Counseling Psychology specializing in Body-Oriented Psychotherapy, specifically focused on mind-body integration.
She has trained in several modalities including sand-tray therapy, Gestalt therapy and family-systems work. She has extensive experience working with children, adolescents and families and is constantly awed by the resiliency and courage of those on their journeys to connection, integration and healing.
In addition to serving as a Quest Facilitator, Jaime currently spends a majority of her time working within large organizations as a business consultant, bringing customer-inspired thinking inside the walls of large fortune 500 companies.
Jaime loves spending time with her family, her running group and her best running partner in the world, her tireless chocolate-lab, Henry.
Janet Knutson, MS
Janet has worked full time as a Pediatric Speech and Language Pathologist since 1985, after receiving her Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin.
Prior to establishing the practice in 1991, Janet worked in a variety of settings, including Private Clinics, Hospitals and the Public Schools, where she was instrumental in developing and implementing progressive Pediatric programming.
Janet specializes in evaluating and treating children with language and auditory - based learning disorders that affect academic performance, including Auditory Processing Disorders and Dyslexia. She also has extensive experience in developing high level social and pragmatic language skills in children with a variety of diagnoses including Aspergers's Syndrome, Autism/PDD, ADD/ADHD, and behavioral disorders.
Janet also enjoys being a dedicated Quest Facilitator.
Jennie Murdock, MA, LCSW
Jennie has worked as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 1991 when she received her Masters in Social Work from BYU.
She specializes in the treatment of severe behavioral disorders with children, attachment, adoption issues and developmental delay problems; as well as complex PTSD trauma victims.
She has worked in inpatient and outpatient treatment facilities with children, teens and adults. This work has included being a crisis worker; trainer for a domestic violence center; clinical director for an adolescent residential treatment program, and for many years of private practice specializing in treatment of attachment disorders. Serving as adjunct faculty, Jennie has supervised many graduate students in process of gaining their licensure. She also conducts trainings locally and nationally on the subject of attachment/bonding and trauma.
She loves her work and considers every day a privilege and a blessing to get to be a part of peoples’ healing journeys. As loving wife, proud mother of 6 children and 12 beautiful grandchildren; in her spare time, she loves to read, exercise, travel, dance, sew; attend theater, art shows, concerts; ski and swim; do humanitarian work; be with family; and watch sunsets.
Kevin has a BA degree in psychology from The University of Connecticut and enjoys serving as a Certified Quest Facilitator.
He feels most alive when he is privileged to be a part of the healing journey of others.
He is Vice President and Regional Sales Director of Cohen & Steers Capital Management with 19 years of sales and marketing experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining Cohen & Steers, Kevin served as a Vice President and Regional Manager at JP Morgan Asset Management and as a Regional Vice President at Pioneer Investments.
Kevin is based in Atlanta where he founded a local chapter of Bread for the Journey in 2004. He enjoys playing ice hockey and walking in the woods with his golden retriever, Tess. Kevin was honored with Civic Recognition Award, Atlanta awardee, recognized for acts of compassion and kindness.
Mike deepened his healing journey during an intensive retreat a few years ago and felt it was so valuable he immediately wanted to help others get the experience.
He was trained as a facilitator the following year and has served in that capacity ever since. Mike says "I love being a facilitator. I think I get just as much out of being a facilitator as the participants, and I love seeing their transitions as they go through the process."
While not involved at Quest, Mike is helping as a firefighter. He recently retired as the Chief at a small mountain department in the heart of the Rockies, but he works all over the U.S. assisting on wildfires whenever called.
When he's not working Mike enjoys being outside hunting and fishing or dirt bike riding in the mountains around his home. He is an avid sports fan and enjoys traveling the world whenever possible and photographing the wonders to be seen there. Mike holds a BS Degree in Natural Resource Management from Colorado State University.
Mo is very committed to and passionate about his work at Quest Institute, its philosophy and capacity to change lives.
For over a decade Mo has been a facilitator in personal growth retreats and participated in a number of personal growth programs including STAR, and the Onsite Living Centered workshop. He continues to be instrumental in a monthly men's support group in Nashville as well as attending the annual Mentone Men's Gathering hosted by John Lee in Mentone, AL.
Mo has served as an officer and board member of several non-profit and public service organizations including the STAR Foundation as well as adviser to a local Red Cross Chapter, Junior Achievement and various youth athletic organizations and booster clubs. He is a graduate of University of the South, Sewanee, TN, with a BA degree in Economics.
As the owner of Benefit Resources, he provides consulting to businesses regarding their employee benefits and retirement plans, as well as financial planning with business owners and individuals. Mo has earned several professional designations including Chartered Financial Consultant, Chartered Life
Rye is an innovative self-starter and is motivated by being creative and supporting others.
Rye is dedicated to his personal and professional growth and is passionate about being a facilitator at Quest and being a part of the personal transformation of others.
In his work life, Rye serves as a Senior Engineer at Phoenix Engineering Services, Inc. His experience is in the electric utility industry including both power plant and transmission system construction and maintenance. He has academic and industry research experience in thermal power systems and composite material manufacturing and testing. As lead engineer and project manager for large capital projects, Rye enjoys his team leadership positions. He specializes in Protection and Controls design and testing as well as thermal analysis of energy systems.
Sherry Cameron, MA
Sherry is a trusted advisor, consultant, facilitator and coach to individuals and organizations.
After completing her Masters Degree in Counseling, Sherry worked with clients in the social services and private sector in the areas of:
- life transition,
- sexual abuse, and
- domestic violence.
Her training and experience integrate body, mind, and spirit in a holistic approach to healing.
In addition to her Masters Degree in Counseling from the University of New England and she holds an MBA in International Business Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, giving her a rare combination of skills both in the boardroom and in the realm of the heart. Her career as an international business coach and executive has seen her lead companies in Singapore, Sydney, Mexico, and the U.S. Her cultural sensitivities and skills as a trained counselor as well as CEO allow her to spark the emotional and physical needs of leaders to achieve conscious, integrated, and forward-looking personal and business objectives.
Sherry uses her gentle spirituality and collaborative style to invite clients to step into their true selves and create their highest dreams, bringing head and heart together in purposeful, compassionate action. For the past decade Sherry has also been dedicated to serving as facilitator in intensive healing retreats.
